I started Youtube while on a full-time job

I share with you the 3 main reasons I decided to start doing Youtube while I am working a full-time job. Despite it’s really hard to find time, I’ve set myself a goal to publish content that would have been helpful to me years ago.

And it’s been more than five months now that I’ve been doing YouTube for, so I think it’s about time for me to share about the decision why I started YouTube.

In this article, I wanted to share with you the three main reasons I started doing YouTube for. Now, let’s get started.

Share my experience on with an audience

Number one, a platform that I could share my experience on with a wider audience.

Eight years ago, when I came to the UK, I really couldn’t afford any wrong decisions. So ultimately, every decision you make will affect your financial well-being in the future, right? During my bachelor’s, I had to take care of all of my expenses.

I started work part-time making sandwiches and I wasn’t making a lot of money. So every decision I made had to be smart in terms of money. And even since then, I was hooked on the idea of financial freedom.

And I knew that if I took a wrong decision financially, it would usually take me at least half a year to recover. And it was really hard to find guidance from somebody that was a professional in the UK. You’re still young, you’re still a student, and nobody takes you seriously at the beginning.

It’s really hard to come across advice. You’d often hear from people telling you to find a mentor online, for example, in LinkedIn. But that’s really hard to do as well.

And here I’m talking about eight years ago, where online gurus weren’t really a thing. At least the financial ones were really just a few on YouTube. It was really hard to find people online or on YouTube that were genuinely sharing their stories and their experience.

And I’m talking about bad experience and good experience as well. Because when you go on YouTube, you’ll find a lot of people just boasting about all of the successful financial decisions they made in their life. And that’s not really genuine because they don’t tell you what to watch out for or what not to do.

And that’s why the first reason I started doing YouTube for is to share my genuine story, my personal experience of all of the financial decisions I made and personal decisions I made while living in the UK.

About me

If you’re new here, hi, I’m Kliment.

I came to the UK eight years ago to study economics, finance and banking.

And since then, I’ve been living and working in the UK. I’ve been investing in property. I’ve been investing in other online tools.

I did three university degrees in total. I managed to buy my first UK property when I was still 25. And I am also working at the moment for the second largest software provider in the UK.

And I do think that I have a lot of valuable things to share with people, like genuine stories from my life. So yeah, that’s the first reason.

Side hustle

Second reason is as a side hustle.

Even though the channel is really small at the moment, making one video takes loads of hours because I’m doing everything myself.

The tasks involved

I do the thumbnails, the script writing and each script, since I do financial videos, each script takes a lot of research. I do my best to give only accurate information in my videos financial wise.

And since I’m not a qualified financial advisor, if I’m doubtful about something, I’d rather not mention it in the video at all. Besides the thumbnails and script writing and research, I also do the video editing and that’s the hardest part.

How long does a video take

On average, if you’re a beginner, it would take you between 5 and 10 hours of editing a single video.

Again, it depends how many things you want to include in your video, like video effects and sound effects.

What software do I use

As a software, I’m using DaVinci Resolve. And in my videos, I often share figures, for example, the minimum text bracket.

So I would go online and find the exact figure. So I make sure I always share the right figures. And all of that takes time.

While editing the video, I also do audio processing. So that takes a bit of time as well. And when the video is done, there’s also SEO work waiting for you.

It’s not as simple as uploading it to YouTube.

Anyway, so there’s a lot of work going into a single video and that’s every week. And since I’m also working full time at the moment, I’m sacrificing evenings and my weekends, so that I could put out the video each weekend.

The goal

So it would be really sweet for this to become a side hustle, so that if the channel brings in some money, I can hire people to do some extra work and I can put out more content.

Explainer videos

The third reason I started YouTube 4 is to try and break down complicated financial concepts into smaller, simple terms. And then also try to give examples from our everyday life.

I want to share my knowledge from my finance degree, from my investment decisions, from my job, career and company decisions. And package all of those experiences into an interesting video that people can watch.

And I’ve also created some information heavy videos, for example, how to do your accounting for the Airbnb.

I’ve also included a free template people can download. I have a full guide on how to create a limited company in the UK, how you can pay your tax. So I’m trying to publish content that’s both educational and interesting at the same time.

If you want to stick around, I have several channels for different topics:

Hope to see you again!

Goodbye.
